6 Greatest WWE Announce Teams EVER!

In light of of the recent reshuffle of WWE's announce teams, we have decided to pick our favourite WWE commentary booths of all time.....  P.S. For the purposes of this list we have kept it strictly WWE thus why we haven't included the likes of Solie & Piper, Russell & Brown, Schiavone, Heenan & Zbyszko and so on....

#6  Michael Cole & Tazz

Icons of Smackdown in the early 2000's, Cole & Tazz were a breathe of fresh air...  Watching recent episodes of Raw it's almost unbelievable to think that Michael Cole was actually a great commentator once upon a time, before he became so overproduced!

#5  Vince McMahon & Jesse Ventura

Long before the Mr. McMahon gimmick, Vince McMahon was actually quite a good babyface announcer.  His most notable counterpart was Jesse "The Body" Ventura, with whom he featured alongside on early WWE PPV's as well as Saturday Night's Main Event.

#4  Jim Ross & Paul Heyman

This dynamic duo were originally formed in Jim Crockett Promotions in the late 1980's and were reunited in WWE in 2001 (after Jerry Lawler left the company).  Many Jim Ross fans actually argue that this was a better duo than JR  & The King (***SPOILER ALERT***) but you'll get our feelings on that a little later.....

#3 Gorilla Monsoon & Jesse Ventura

Host's of almost every major WWE event from 1985-1990 (including 5 of the first 6 WrestleMania's) the iconic duo of "Geno" & "The Body" have more than earned their spot at number 3 on our list!

#2 Jim Ross & Jerry Lawler

Arguably the greatest team ever, "JR" & "The King" come in a close second on our list.  Whether it be humorous banter during Bra & Panties matches......"PUPPIES"...... or iconic calls such as "As God is my witness, he is broken in half" these 2 could do it all!  Jim Ross & Jerry "The King" Lawler will forever be remembered as all time greats, for pretty much narrating WWE's entire Attitude Era!

#1  Gorilla Monsoon & Bobby Heenan

The humorous love/hate relationship of Monsoon & "The Brian" was fantastic, and the duo kept us hooked on the WWE product from week to week, in the mid-late 80's/early 90's, with their banter & great wrestling story telling.  From classic lines from Monsoon such as "Close but no cigar", "a shot to the Bread Basket" or forever telling Heenan "Will you be serious" to Heenan referring to fans as "Humanoids" & enhancement talents as "Ham N Eggers" are just a few reasons why we loved them so much!

The pair co-hosted many shows such as Prime Time Wrestling, All American Wrestling & Wrestling Challenge as well as a number of PPV's together in the 80's & 90's before Heenan's departure for WCW in 1994.

It is our opinion at BCW that Gorilla Monsoon & Bobby "The Brain" Heenan are the Greatest WWE Commentary Team of All Time!!!

If like us, you loved Monsoon & Heenan, check out this great piece by Rolling Stone Magazine, created shortly after Bobby Heenan's passing!!!  Gorilla & The Brain Best Bits
